Since 1999, Jerome Ernst, MD, has served ACRIA as Medical Director. In this capacity he supervises the clinical trials program and other research and provides guidance in all of the organization’s projects and activities. In addition to his work at ACRIA, Dr. Ernst serves as Medical Director for VidaCare, a special needs program and Medicaid managed care plan for people living with HIV and AIDS, and the Village Center for Care. He has served previously as Acting Medical Director of the Harlem United AIDS Day Care Program, Associate Director of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Diseases, and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. Dr. Ernst has been appointed Associate Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is Vice Chair of the Board of Bronx AIDS Services.
