ACRIA Researchers Invited to Present at American Psychological Association Annual Convention

A symposium organized by ACRIA’s Senior Research Scientist Dr. Mark Brennan-Ing, entitled “Reducing Physical and Mental Health Disparities in Aging LGBT Adults: From Research to Practice,” has been accepted for presentation at the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Annual Convention, August 2nd-5th, 2012 in Orlando, FLA.

This symposium is the product of the Aging Task Force of APA’s Division 44 (Society for the Psychological Study of LGBT Issues). In addition to the ACRIA paper on social support and depression among older LGBT adults by Dr. Brennnan-Ing, Liz Seidel, and Dr. Karpiak, papers will be presented by Dr. Perry Halkitis (NYU), Dr. Linda Travis (Argosy Univ.), and Dr. Nancy Lynn Baker (Fielding Univ). Dr. Douglas Kimmel, and early champion of LGBT issues in psychology, will serve as discussant.
