In spring 2008 ACRIA’s quarterly ACRIA Update and GMHC’s Treatment Issues merged to create Achieve — a new, more comprehensive publication that allows both organizations to best serve the needs of their readers.
Achieve brings needed prevention and treatment information to the people living with HIV, their doctors, and caregivers. Informational articles are written by acknowledged experts on their subjects, in language that is easy for someone without scientific training to understand. First-person articles by people with HIV recounting their own treatment experiences bring often remote-sounding subject matter to life and underscore the message of empowerment. Advocacy updates help readers to remain informed about emerging policy issues affecting them and their communities. Armed with increased knowledge and the experiences of others, people with HIV are able to communicate with their healthcare providers better, participate actively in their own healthcare, and make informed decisions about treatment options.
Achieve is available free by individual subscription and in bulk, upon request, to organizations serving people with HIV. If you were an ACRIA Update or Treatment Issues subscriber you do not need to act - there will be no subscription interruption.
Current and past issues of Achieve are available for download in English and Spanish. Adobe Acrobat is required to read these PDF files. You can download this program at www.adobe.com. You can also request copies by completing the Order Form in the Publications menu at left.
